It’s hard to believe September is almost over. To kick off the fall, I decided it was time to change my hair color once again. I am typically lighter in the summer, darker in the winter – as what most stylists would recommend. It’s fun to change things up.
My stylist Erin Edmunds at Studio Lagorio, recommended I try a relatively popular technique called Ombre – a French word that literally means shaded. (click here for more information) I have been sitting in her chair for over 5 years and trust whatever she recommends so of course I said, “lets do this!” – and I am thrilled I did. Not only do I love the 4 shades of brown (it looks very natural) but my hair feels really soft. I am looking forward to seeing how it looks after 3 weeks of wear (it’s around this time I start to notice my hair color fading).
With my new hair color comes new makeup. (Hello Clarins counter!) My bronzers and orange/red lipsticks are temporarily taking a back seat only to be replaced with mauve lipsticks and blush. I also tend to use a darker brownish black eyeliner with darker hair which really makes my eyes stand out.
One of the first things I did to celebrate my new look was head straight to the Union Square mall in San Francisco. I was on the hunt for a new pair of boots and Nordstroms did not disappoint. Besides the boots, a new fall perfume was in order – prefect timing since Jo Malone just released their new fragrance, Wild Bluebell. Delightful, I can’t stop smelling myself!
Afterward, I made my way to the Polk Street Blues Festival where a good friend of mine had a booth, Gata Lata- Original Art and Photography. She had some incredible landscaped photographs for sale of her travels all over Asia, South America, Mexico, Europe and many local spots in the bay area. I stuck around in her booth for the last hour or so and then we went out to dinner.
Dinner itself is another blog post, it happened to be Trekkie night at the Tee Off in San Francisco. This place was featured on the Food Network and did not disappoint! Don’t let the dive look fool you, the food is fantastic.
Another fun day in the bag!
