I’ve mentioned my fan love for Muubaa leather jackets in several other blog posts, so it’s no surprise that the newest addition to my extensive leather jacket collection is yet another piece from Muubaa – the Minsk Leather Quilted Biker Jacket. Continue reading Muubaa-licious
I recently discovered an inexpensive pair of BDG black high-waisted seamed skinny jeans at Urban Outfitters. After reading over a hundred positive reviews online, I decided to order a pair for myself and see what the hype is about. Continue reading Get High, Waisted
This is probably one of my favorite looks to date. There is nothing more sleek than a solid fitting pair of black coated skinny jeans. I love wearing an all black ensemble that showcases a really great looking pair of shoes. In this case, it’s my black and white snakeskin Sam Edelman Sophie wedged sandals. Continue reading Quadruple Style
Swagger: A demeanor of confidence, coolness, style, and togetherness. Someone with Swagger gives of an ora of comfortability with his/her self. Swagger is commonly referred to as Swag or Swagga.
A couple of days ago in an elevator I was told I had swagger. This came from an older gentleman whom I’ve casually ridden the elevator with a number of times now in my office building. Apparently, I have a reputation in the building for having incredible style and confidence. This was the first I’ve heard about this and am very flattered. So I thought it would be fitting to name this post, Swagger. Especially since I was wearing this outfit on that day. Continue reading Swagger
While some may think it’s absurd to own a dry clean only sweat top, I won’t bat an eye. Especially if it’s made with quality fabrics, is intentionally over-sized, and has an amazing print. In this case, that print is leopard (a personal favorite) Continue reading Panthera Pardus with Timo Weiland
Casual Friday’s means leopard print AG cropped skinny jeans, a loose fitting Thread for Thoughts sweatshirt, Muubba leather jacket and Ash leather high-tops. Very fitting for a fashionista urbanite looking for comfort without compromising style. Continue reading Super Fly with Muubaa and AG Jeans
I love wearing animal prints, especially leopard prints, but not in a Jersey Shore kind of way. I prefer subtlety. I recently read a quote from Rachel Zoe that struck home, “I think every woman should have leopard, but not every woman will wear leopard. You have to have courage to wear leopard.” Continue reading Concrete Jungle
I’ve mentioned Muubaa on a couple of other blog posts (click here and here), and I have yet to find another brand of leather jackets that I like better. I love their jackets so much that I’ve started a small Muubaa collection in my closet (so far I own 2 leather jackets and one pair of leather pants). As I’ve said many times before, and will continue to say, leather jackets are a staple piece worth investing in. I can spot an inexpensive or pleather jacket a mile away (and that’s not good) – it’s better to set aside money and spend some time looking.
This brings me to my latest Muubaa leather jacket, the Merini in mint. While is says mint, it looks more gray then mint to me. Which I am perfectly fine with, I happen to love the color and faded finish.
I am really excited about this current blog post – I was lucky to have my friend, Ian Hylands offer to shoot some photos for me. He is a professional photographer based in the Pacific Northwest that specializes in action sports and lifestyle images. If you are a mountain bike enthusiast like I am, then you’ve seen a lot of his images in catalogs, magazines and online (especially on Pinkbike.com). He’s worked with most of the popular personalities in my favorite sport and it was an honor to be his subject. We recently spent an afternoon walking around Oakland, California looking for interesting locations to showcase a fierce outfit for Motel Rocks, as I’m part of the Motel Rocks Street Team. (a team of fashion bloggers spreading the word one blog post at a time.)
Putting on a well-made tailored and designed leather jacket instantly gives one major sex appeal. Leather jackets have a bit of history; starting with the early 1900’s worn by aviator and military personal, they then began to achieve iconic status in Hollywood by the 1940’s, and are now relevant in today’s Pop Culture.
I’ve spent some time online researching leather jackets, and recently came across a brand I had never heard of – Muubaa. They are a UK company that makes leather jackets, coats, trousers, and accessories (made in India). After reviewing their current 2012 Biker Jacket collection online (click here) – I instantly fell in love. Everything was basically designed with me in mind – at least that’s what I would like to believe. The buttery soft lambskin, distressed finished look, asymmetric lines, draped shapes, and feminine detailing screamed, I must own one! There is something to be said about a bad-ass leather jacket that is so well tailored, it holds a lot of femininity.
